[ The camera comes on showing a smiling Jackie who waves quickly to the lens, and then turns to the person she was standing with, and begins to speak.]

Like I said before, it has the text, voice, and video functions, and this is the video. Here, come here for a second and I'll show you how it works.

Let me see...

[Seifer pops into view, standing right next to her as he leans in to look at the device. He blinks, then nods.]



Yeah, I got it.

It's pretty easy to figure out, and-

[ She stops speaking, and her eyes widen as they stare at something positioned above Seifer's head. She covers her face with a hand for a moment, feeling the red that is already coming to her cheeks.]

Shit...

Huh? What is it?

[Seifer looks at her, kind of worried, really confused, then looks up at the plant. What's that...?]

...what's going on, chika?

It's uh...that plant... Do you...uh, know what M-mistletoe is?

[Stare. Stare. STARE.]

...are you freakin' serious?!

The thing is...it uh..it...works differently here. It grows randomly and..i-if people don't...well, if they don't then it shocks them. I'm not sure how bad it is but...

...so you're saying we have to?!

[He stares in shock, then just sighs, looking away for a moment. He glances around... then steps closer.]

It's okay. No one will see it... let's just go fast, okay?

A-alright.


[He takes a moment, then just cups her cheek with a hand and plants a gentle kiss on her lips. After a moment, he pulls back. He just kind of stares at her for a second, his face glowing, before looking at the ground and muttering.]

[ She nearly jumps back when he pulled away, and her eyes found the ground shortly after. ]

[He's trying to find anything but her to look at... and sees the communicator. And that little light saying 'hey, you're on candid camera!']

Uh... Chika... your device thing...

[She stares uncomprehendingly at him for a moment, and then follows his train of sight to the communicator blinking innocently on the ground. Blinking. Because it's turned on. She jumps toward it and quickly ends the transmission, some muttered curses heard just before it shuts off.]

Well we are friends...or we were, uh...he..Seifer left the city. He just came back, but...he doesn't remember being here before.

[ She shrugs, and chuckles under her breath, because it really could have been a lot worse than a kiss. Even if that was really awkward...]
