[27: Accidental Video]
Jun. 20th, 2010 09:59 pm[The video flips on, jostled by Jackie's elbow and shows the kitchen of the apartment. She's staring into a bowl with a mixing spoon in it and frowning.]
Are you sure we don't need any more flour? It's looks pretty watery...[Kid leans over and examines it before giving a slight nod, reaching for the flour.]
Just a bit more. Too much and we might as well call them cookies. Just mix all the lumps out, evenly.[He starts sprinkling a bit more into the bowl. She mixes as he sprinkles more into the bowl and gives a satisfied nod as the consistency thickens.]
Okay, I think it's ready. Do you want me to start pouring it?[He gives it that analyzing eye before checking the stove once more. And then a nod.]
Yes. Aim for the center, alright? Not too much, or they won't come out nice and round.[And by 'nice and round', he means 'perfect and symmetrical'. She doesn't roll her eyes only because she was expecting it.]
Alright.[With that she begins pouring, doing her best to keep it as round and centered as possible.]How's that?
[And he's examining it again. Once again, an approving nod.]
I like it.[She nods and begins the next one. This time it looks a little less perfect, but she hopes he doesn't notice.]
Uh, alright then, why don't you just take a break and I can handle it from here?[OH HE NOTICED ALRIGHT.]
Wait... something was slightly off about that one... Let me try.[And he reaches for the bowl. She hands it off to him. He starts pouring in a beautiful pancake... except there's part dripping, which he doesn't see until it's too late. Once he's done scooping out part... it lands... and messes up the entire perfectly-round dough splatter he had managed to create.]
Ah--EH!? N-no... no.... I have to fix it...[But.... but how?! He just tenses up, trying to figure out how to make this a better pancake.]
...it's just a pancake...[Jackie tries to calm him before he can panic.]There are plenty more to make. Don't...worry about it.
W-we have to throw this one away.[Even though that's a waste of supplies. Kid already reaches for the handle, hand trembling with the spatula. She catches his arm]
Ah, no. I'm sure it'll still taste fine. Really, it's alright.
But... it's not... perfect. So it has... to... I... I just...[Here Jackie, you can have the spatula. Kid's having a breakdown, tense shoulders and shaking. Jackie glances at the pancake, and back to Kid, and then as carefully as possible she transforms her arm and burns away the extra batter, before scraping it off with the spatula.]
There...is that better?[He's already too busy crying against her shoulder. Oh, the misery.]
[She sighs, pats him on the back, and offers tentatively with some worry in her voice.]
Maybe...after we're done you can...do something with uh...my hair...symmetrically? [Before he answers,a she moves to start another pancake, and hits the communicator, turning it off.]

[He doesn't mean it as an insult. But your part, it's been an inch off at the top... and... He just sinks to the ground.]
B-but if I can't fix a simple pancake, how can I fix your hair?! I can't do anything right, I can't even fix my own hair... I'm hideous...

Date: 2010-06-23 02:27 am (UTC)He sniffles for a moment, looking at his shirt. Indeed, it was a simple long-sleeve gray top... Didn't have a collar but he was alright with that. He stares at it.]

Not that she doesn't trust that Jacqueline has everything under control; it's a girlfriend thing.]
